Staff Picks: Graphic Novels

In this edition of staff picks, we focus on graphic novels!

Our middle readers room has a whole shelf full of graphic novels, and it’s one of our favorite ways to read a story. We also love this article from BookRiot about why graphic novels DO count as real reading!

Without further ado, here are our picks:

Lily’s Pick

Lily says: I like it because my dad and I used to read it together. I like the witty humor!

Gracie’s Pick

Gracie says: I read this one on the recommendation of a 9-year-old, and no regrets! It was a super quick read full of action, and it cracked me up throughout the whole novel.

McCartney’s Pick

McCartney says: The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. They pair perfectly with the magical story of two unlikely friends trying to solve a mystery!

Lauren’s Picks

Lauren says: I love how you get a peek into the world of a hard of hearing kid. I love even more how she turns her “disability” into her superpower! A great graphic novel for finding strengths within.

Lauren says: Craft does an excellent job picking up on & then showing what it’s like to be a new kid at a new school. Follow Jordan as he navigates his new surroundings, through his words & his drawings! Great for a laugh & for a good think.

We hope you’ll check out these awesome stories.

As always, happy reading!
